Novellana, 1.5 km before the hostel, is a small and quiet village on the western coast of Asturias, a
perfect place to take a break on the Camino del Norte or enjoy a few days of nature, sea and calm.

A few kilometres from the Novellana hostel, you can visit beaches, cliffs, fishing villages and unique natural spaces.

Playa del Silencio, one of the most emblematic corners of
Asturias

Less than 2 km from the Andén de Novellana hostel is Playa del Silencio, also known as Playa de
Gavieiru. It is one of the most photographed beaches in Asturias, famous for its natural surroundings, cliffs and stunning sunsets.

Playa del Silencio is an essential stop. A perfect place for a quiet walk or to sit and contemplate the sea after the stage, especially at sunset.

Coastal Trails and Cliffs

The surroundings of Novellana are marked by cliffs, green meadows and coastal paths, perfect for
leisurely walking. Many of these paths connect small beaches, natural viewpoints, and rural villages.

From the Camino itself you will find stretches between beaches, meadows, cliffs and views of the
Cantabrian Sea, to enjoy the characteristic landscape of western Asturias.

A few minutes’ drive away is Cudillero, a picturesque fishing village known for its colourful terraced houses over the harbour.

Cabo Vidio and its viewpoints

Cabo Vidio is one of the most spectacular natural viewpoints on the Asturian coast. Its cliffs offer views of the Cantabrian Sea and a perfect place to contemplate the landscape and feel the force of the sea.
